In my head it's like this: Steve is a Prince, and as the eldest he's also heir to the throne of Hawaii; Danny is also a Prince (of Jersey), but he's not the eldest so he's not the heir and is therefore a 'spare' who can be married off. Now that he's married to Prince Steven Danny is Prince Consort :)
