The camera is actually quite old (by digital standards, anyway!). It's a Nikon Coolpix 885 that DH bought in Japan on a business trip. He did his homework before he bought, and it was quite a good model at the time, but it's starting to seem a bit creaky now. It takes good pics, but it's not very fast at taking or at processing the shots.
DH has a share bonus coming in next month, so we're thinking of blowing it on a digital SLR so that we can play with different lenses again :-)
