At first I boggled as to why anyone would bother. Then I thought about how often I've seen burst footballs left abandoned on fields by people who couldn't be bothered to find a bin... Seems a far better use for them!
What makes it even better was that there were actually four in a row on the wall, although I couldn't get a good angle to include them all in a photo. We hypothesised a scenario where the father had been coaching the team until his offspring got dropped for being not very good, whereupon the father threw in the towel in a fit of pique and vandalised (to use DS's choice of words!) the club match balls...
