Everyone says it's a great ride, though. Kidlings were sick opening night, when we had tickets and a sitter, and since then, it's been 27 billion hours of watching extras stuff on the TTT:EE and the POTC dvd. I'll get there, after the ROTK stuff winds down a little.
I'm loving the books (nearly at the end of number 4). HMS Surprise was the best so far, from my point of view. You need to read them for the historical detail (which is amazing) and the characterisation as much (if not more) than for the plot.
I loved the movie, too. Some of the photography is stunning, and the detail of the costumes etc is awesome. And I'm deeply in love with the ship.
I've played the soundtrack so much that DH wants to see the movie now, too, so we're going together next Tuesday :-)
