Exactly :)

There is a part of me that feels bad for Lauren German because Lori is so obviously excluded from this promo but then the other part of me likes that CBS realizes which characters and actors are the fan favorites.

I know what you mean, but I think the thing you have to remember is that Lauren has known for quite a while now whether or not she's staying, even though Lori's fate hasn't been leaked to the viewers. So either she knows she's staying and that there's a plan in place to reintroduce the Lori character in a better way now that Joe has gone, or she's already come to terms with the fact that she's leaving, and is focused beyond Hawaii Five-0. Either way I don't think she's going to pay too much attention to this promo.

I don't think this whole situation can be at all easy for her, knowing how *disliked* her character is by many fans, but I suppose that as an actor you have to be fairly thick-skinned and have self-belief, otherwise you don't last long in the business. All I hope is that she has a good support network of friends (which from her Twitter feed she seems to) and that TPTB have supported her as well as they should have through all this - because after all it's their handling and writing of the Lori character that has caused the problems and the backlash.

On a lighter note, as well as it being the main four, I do like the way this promo focuses on Steve and Danny being partners, and the banter between them. It's a big part of what made the first season so great, and I'm just hoping that this promo means that TPTB realise they need to get some of that back.

Oh, if only the show had actually been like this during second season. *sigh*

Dare we hope that it's because they're planning to follow through?

Keeping EVERYTHING crossed about that one!

The 'four reasons' is so blatant, you have to have hope. Otherwise why not do a play on the 'five reasons of Five-0'?

Good point!

Oh please, oh please let the show go back to what made it awesome!

This is such a HAPPY promo!!

[identity profile] azziria.livejournal.com 2012-01-24 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
You're right, it is happy, isn't it?

[identity profile] kare.livejournal.com 2012-01-24 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
ugh, no time to watch and I'm on the way to a all day meeting...but I had to take time to say yes! I love the number four. =D

Oh! You know what?! That promo makes me happy! Seriously!

That was actually really really good!

YAY!!!! *does happy dance*

[identity profile] portraitofafool.livejournal.com 2012-01-25 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
I keep seeing all this squeeful delight over the number four... and nothing else about it besides embedded videos for (what I assume to be) a trailer. So, basically I have no idea what the fuck is going on and it is driving me up the wall. Help?! *puppy eyes*

It's a new promo from CBS, which starts off 'One team, four reasons to say Oh' and then focuses on each of the four in turn (Chin Ho, Kono, Danno, Steve-o?). The only shot of Lori is in that clip of the team all walking towards the camera, which is very brief, other than that she's not in it all and they clearly state 'four reasons'. The other good thing is that the promo is clearly focused on the partnership and banter between Steve and Danny, one of the things that made S1 such a success and something that has been missing a lot this season.

So that's why the squee, core 4, no Lori, lots of McDanno banter. Cheesy, yes, but fun.

It's also very nicely put together and coloured, but that's obviously not the main reason for the delight.
