Ohh wow, there's some beautiful scenery there. Reminds me a lot of the area around Kielder too and makes me want to get in the car one day this week for a drive over there while I'm off work :-)
The only time I've eve been to Kielder it was incredibly wet and we got soaked cycling... the bike hire man thought we were insane, but my daughter (who was about six) made up a song about having an ocean in her wellies that made it rather special despite the rain :)
That pretty much sums up Kielder though, in my late teens myself and a mate used to ride over on the motorbikes and camp a couple of nights. We'd leave here in blazing sunshine then half way there change into our waterproofs lol.
I love those days when you get sunshine and clouds - I love the pattern of light and shadows across the hills, it seems to add to the sense of grand scale somehow.
It was so beautiful up there, and all the better because we'd started early so we saw hardly anyone until we dropped down to the waterside towards the very end of the walk.

Me, too! I could watch cloud shadows across the hills for hours on end.

(Is it bad that I saw the rocks in the first pic and my first thought was that they might be good ones for Alex to work out with?)
