Ups and downs

Woke up feeling a little bit blue this morning. Not sure why, really - probably just me still being tired from all the travelling yesterday (oh how I hate going on aeroplanes!). And I got home to a seriously messy house. How come I’m apparently the only member of the household who is capable of carrying a mug into the kitchen, putting anything back into a cupboard, or pulling a flush? And I’ve got my mother and stepfather coming to stay this weekend, so the place has to be spotless by Friday afternoon. *sigh*

< / rant>

However, things have improved. Went for a checkup this morning, and my blood pressure is back down to being that of a 20-year-old once more. So that’s good. Plus, in the 3 days I’ve been away Spring has obviously arrived - we now have violets, Aubretia, grape hyacinths and peach blossom out in our garden. All very lovely.

*hugs* for the blueness and may I suggest cracking a whip over the heads of your dearly belovds to get the housework done?

I've always thought that grape hyacinths are the oddest little flowers. They just look so unlikely - lovely but strange.

Oh dear! I hope you can kick your family into the collective butt and get them to clear it all up.

Hooray for the blood pressure!

Sorry you're feeling blue. I love flying but it can't be much fun if you don't. Throw some spring this way, would you?! It's still cold, wet and windy here. I'd love to see your flowers. Why not take some pics?

I think I've got the same family. I am so fed up of daughter never, ever bringing her dirty washing downstairs. All she has to do is put them in the washing basket for me to deal with. Heh! She's in for a rude awakening when she goes to college.

Nothing to say that hasn't been said above, so I'll send *hugs* instead.

Happy Spring! Oh, violets! *imagines the smell* Ours here are yellow, and they bloom later in the spring, last week of March or first of April, on the ridgetops.

I need that hike. Thanks for reminding me.

I get this after airplane rides as well, but I *love* to travel by plane! I'm pretty sure it's related to the immune system ramping up to fight off the various bugs encountered in the enclosed air of the flying tin can. I usually beat them, but I feel like life is pointless and hopeless for a day or two, until I get them all driven off.

*hugs*

Let your mother deal with seeing the mess, for once. Life's been too hectic, and when you were a little one, did she need to jet off to Switzerland for meetings, and still keep a neat house? I simply don't know how you manage, my dear!

My wife is the biggest offender of leave it where you finished with it in out family.

Our house suffers most from having a bunch of stuff that will leave if the children ever move out, but that's a whole different problem.
