Ups and downs

Woke up feeling a little bit blue this morning. Not sure why, really - probably just me still being tired from all the travelling yesterday (oh how I hate going on aeroplanes!). And I got home to a seriously messy house. How come I’m apparently the only member of the household who is capable of carrying a mug into the kitchen, putting anything back into a cupboard, or pulling a flush? And I’ve got my mother and stepfather coming to stay this weekend, so the place has to be spotless by Friday afternoon. *sigh*

However, things have improved. Went for a checkup this morning, and my blood pressure is back down to being that of a 20-year-old once more. So that’s good. Plus, in the 3 days I’ve been away Spring has obviously arrived - we now have violets, Aubretia, grape hyacinths and peach blossom out in our garden. All very lovely.

Date: 2004-03-17 05:45 am (UTC)I think I've got the same family. I am so fed up of daughter never, ever bringing her dirty washing downstairs. All she has to do is put them in the washing basket for me to deal with. Heh! She's in for a rude awakening when she goes to college.

I get this after airplane rides as well, but I *love* to travel by plane! I'm pretty sure it's related to the immune system ramping up to fight off the various bugs encountered in the enclosed air of the flying tin can. I usually beat them, but I feel like life is pointless and hopeless for a day or two, until I get them all driven off.
*hugs*
Let your mother deal with seeing the mess, for once. Life's been too hectic, and when you were a little one, did she need to jet off to Switzerland for meetings, and still keep a neat house? I simply don't know how you manage, my dear!
