Bread

[livejournal.com profile] quarryquest posted a link to this article in her journal: Our daily bread. It's about the production of store-bought bread, and it makes sobering reading, in my opinion.

Makes me very glad I make my own bread!

Wow, that's interesting.

I'd make my own bread, but we don't eat enough to warrant making a whole loaf.

That's the one thing about the homemade bread, it doesn't stay fresh as long as store bought (probably because it doesn't have any preservatives in it). But we get through a loaf a day, pretty much (by the time we've done breakfast toast and made sandwiches there aint much left over), so it's not a problem for us.

I find store-bought bread very salty now, on the rare occasion we buy it.

I read that same article yesterday. While I knew storebought bread wasn't good for us, I had no idea it was that bad. Yuck. I think I'll price bread machines today, since I'm that lazy and don't always want to do all the work myself.

I don't eat bread anymore, yay! I was hoping there was something good about the cramps bread gives me. *G*
