Photo-a-day, 20th June

Piffle has reached that age where, whenever I find her curled up somewhere unexpected, I have to take a quick look to check she's still breathing.

She spent the entire day fast asleep on the patio, blissfully oblivious of the presence of any passing rival cats. (Actually, I have a sneaky suspicion that she's perfectly aware they're there, but pretends to be asleep because she can't be bothered to stir herself to deal with them but doesnt' want to lose her street cred...)

N'awwww! She's so adorable.

Cleo's at that age, too. And he's somewhat deaf, so he often doesn't come to greet me when I get home after work and I go looking - holding my breath - afraid of what I'll find. He always wakes with a startled, "Mrrrrrt?" when I touch him and then immediately stretches and yawns all casual-like, pretending he knew I was there all along. *g*

My dog's at that age too. I have a friend she's usually absolutely thrilled to see- we were freaked when this friend came over and she didn't get up, even after we were calling her for a few minutes. I finally went over and touched her gently. She started, then lay back down, with this little sigh as we gave her a tummy rub that said oh so clearly- "Oh, I knew you were there, I'm just too comfy to move. You'll have to come to me."

Poor old pets!
