Have just been wondering - I’ve got so used to seeing Orlando as dorky-but-sweet Will Turner, how easy will it be to switch back to seeing Orlando as a kick-ass elf warrior when the TT EE and RotK come out?
Like falling off a rock, I think - although that sounds rather painful. How about, "Easy as pie" - an Americanism I've never understood? No? "A walk in the park" - another Americanism? No, that involves effort.
Got it! Easy as picturing myself rolling about on a pelt bed with Karl Urban (as Eomer, natch) with his long blonde hair flowing over me?
Like falling off a log: from the difficulty of balancing on logs crossing creeks--unpleasant to land in the water, but the water cushions your fall.
Easy as pie: involving no leavening in the pie crust, just mix the flour and the fat to make dough, and wrap it around some filling, meat or fruit or such. Much easier than cake.
A walk in the park: as opposed to bushwhacking through the wilderness, without paths cleared or any directional markers.
A few more?
A cake walk: from the custom of the prize-giving contest whereby walking in a circle to music, and halting in the correct numbered space awards one a prize. No skill or even particular ability beyond walking is required. And the prize is usually some form of baked good.
Like shooting fish in a barrel: Pretty self explanatory, there. You will always get a fish, I suppose. Though why no one ever points out that you also are likely to get a barrel that no longer hold water, and splinters all through your legs, and a pulverized, inedible fish...well. It's just a metaphor.
I like your analogy best, I think. Can I roll about on a bed of leaves with Legolas, though? that sounds good.
Gosh, linaelyn. That is rather educational. The stuff about rolling about on a bed of leaves with Legolas, I mean. Can I join you? *hopeful look Or at least have him when you're finished?
I still have no difficulty in seeing Will and Legolas as completely separate - I hardly even see them as the same actor. So it shouldn't be a problem for me!
No Prob. Legolas has a confidence he radiates, that will banish any thoughts of Dork! Will from your mind. I have the oppposite problem, actually. There are about three (*finger on chin* no, maybe five) moments in POTC where I get pulled out of the film, because Will pulls an OOC Legolas moment. He's too insightful, or too confident or just plain ept.
(Is that a word? Ept? As opposite of inept? Dictionary.com says it's an Early Pregnancy Test. hahahahaha. MPREG ahoy! Load the long nines!)
If you're worried about it? Pull out the LOTR dvd or video and get back in the swing of things. Or mix it up a little by watching Black Hawk Down (which I cannot screw up the courage to watch, actually. Too rough for me. OUaTiM was at the outer edge of my tolerance level.)
Gee, I think the coffee just hit my system, ya think? *blather*blather*
Whee! paladinnz, you're a pal. I've had a look - our local cinema is UGC and they seem to be doing it elsewhere in the UK. I have a horrible feeling that Aberdeen will be the poor relation as usual. *sigh* I will be most miffed if it doesn't happen here. On the bright side, they are doing it in Glasgow - maybe it's worth going there for a day or two.

I'd love to see the EE's in cinema. I've heard it's only happening in North America, though.
