Hut rules: any empty seat is a free seat.

As DS lifted his butt off the sofa to reach for the TV remote, Max slid neatly from the back of the sofa onto the vacated sofa cushion and curled up. It was slick and masterful and hut rules prevail so DS ended up sitting on the floor...
