Fandom seems to be very divided about this episode, from what I'm reading. A lot of Sam fans feel that the minute Cas turned up Dean somehow forgot about Sam, but at the end of the day Dean didn't hesitate about Cas getting his bad memories back if it meant saving Sam. I guess if you love Sam and don't care for Cas then you're going to see this episode through a different filter from those who 'ship Cas and Dean.
I have issues with how they've so conveniently 'solved' Sam's Lucifer problem, and with them bringing Cas back just to do it, but my issues were so eclipsed by how Jared and Mark played this that I'm taking the episode as a win.
