A couple of inches of snow fell overnight - looks beautiful, and thankfully people seem to be being far more sensible than last year. At least the gritters were out in force this year, after last winter's total fiasco.
This is what the view from my garden gate looks like this morning (I actually took this pic last winter, but there's no substantial difference this morning).

Just waiting now to find out if DS's school is open or closed today (this is forcing me to listen to local radio, which I find intensely irritating). More snow is forecast for later this morning, so I think I'll work from home even if the school and nursery are open.
Fingers crossed it all gets cleared before I have to go to Heathrow on Friday morning - I may have to go down on Thursday and stay at one of the airport hotels if it looks dodgy.
