Parenting skills
Jul. 22nd, 2003 02:10 pmA good friend of mine tells me that she has been on a parenting course. Now (so far, anyway!) I haven’t felt the need to do anything of the sort - does this mean that I’m doing fine and don’t need it, or that I’m a dreadful mother because I’m not going on one for the benefit of my children? (Actually, my children are much better behaved than hers (and that's what she says)... or maybe mine are a mass of seething neuroses that my untaught parenting skills are inadequate to identify...)
Ho hum. I’m sure time will tell soon enough. So far neither of my offspring seem to mind having a mother who teaches them (slightly) rude songs to sing at school, lusts after movie actors, and knocks back her first glass of wine of the weekend at the same time as she puts their tea on the table...
