Daily drivel
Aug. 6th, 2003 09:47 amFeeling very pleased today because I went to the gym last night (bless that air conditioning!) and ran 5 km on the treadmill faster than I ever have before (I can’t give any more time to exercise, so I figure I’m going to have to try to go further in the time I have available). I have a sneaking suspicion that this doesn’t quite balance out the three chocolate bars I ate yesterday (but I’m not being too hard on myself - it was one of those days when a nice healthy apple just wouldn’t do it for me...).
On the car front, the bodyshop finally looked at it yesterday evening. They think the rear axle may be slightly bent, but apparently this is an easy repair. So easy that they might be able to finish it before we go on holiday at the end of next week. Just possibly. Grrrr...
We’re having another go at going out to dinner tonight (always provided I don’t crash the car on my way home this time, of course!). Fingers crossed. And tomorrow night we’re going to the cinema together, to see Pirates of the Caribbean. Two nights in a row out together without the kids is something we probably haven’t managed since DS was born. MIL is babysitting for us - DH is worried that we’re taking advantage of her, but as I pointed out to him, we are taking advantage, but we’re not taking her for granted, and she knows how incredibly grateful we are.
