How unselfish I am...
Sep. 7th, 2003 08:26 amI'm having a girl's afternoon/evening out with my cousin R today.
R is the nearest thing to a sister I've got (her mother and mine are identical twins, so I guess genetically we're sort of half-sisters anyway, and we share a lot of background...). She's a warm and generous person, and she's been through a lot of sh*t in her life, especially over the last couple of years. Now she's making a fresh start - new job, new town (nearer to me, which is great!), new home, new man. I really hope it all works out for her - she deserves some good luck.
She hasn't got a lot of money at the moment, so today is going to be my treat. And guess what? She wants to go to the pictures because she hasn't seen Pirates yet. So of course, despite having already seen it... erm, let's just say 'more than once', shall we? - I have unselfishly and out of the goodness of my heart agreed to go and see it again - purely for her sake, you understand. Because I'm nice like that ;-)
Actually, I'm on safe ground here - this is the woman who sat through an early showing of TTT with me and whimpered every time Aragorn came on screen...
