Stuck at home
Sep. 16th, 2003 08:39 amStuck at home today with a bad back. Don't know how I did it - I was fine when I got up yesterday, but when I got out of the car to drop DS off at school it was hurting. It's an old problem, something to do with muscles going into spasm, and it usually happens after a period of stress - perhaps the stress of a weekend of being on my best behaviour for my Mum and MIL brought it on...
At least this time it's not too bad, so I'm hoping that a couple of day flat on my back on the living room floor (and no, I shouldn't be sitting here at the comp...) will sort it out. I've an important meeting in Switzerland on Thursday and Friday, so I really need to be better by then - at the moment sitting on an airplane would be torture.
However, looking on the bright side, I get a nice peaceful day off work, and the postman has just delivered a new DVD for me (the El Mariachi/Desperado double bill), so I think I'll have quite a pleasant day all in all.
I just get so fed up with the pain (I don't like to take painkillers if I can possibly help it, because I figure that the pain is warning me if I'm moving/stretching my back too much for its own good). :-(
