Fellow-student at college last night: "You mean you went all the way up in the rigging?"

Me: "Well, yes."

Fellow-student: "Oh, I thought you'd been on a cruise!"

And then she gets this look on her face that says she either thinks I'm totally insane or insanely brave, and I realise yet again that my world is just slightly at an angle from most other people's.

And if I hear "Did you really go on your own?" one more time I shall probably scream.
