We did something a bit different for our walk this month - instead of heading for the hills, we went down to London on the train and walked the Thames riverside path from the Cutty Sark at Greenwich to the Houses of Parliament at Westminster.
Fascinating walk, through areas where the old riverside warehouses have been converted into posh apartments that lie cheek-by-jowel with old council flats still housing working class Eastenders. An unexpected urban farm - pigs and goats and chickens right in the heart of London. The Canary Wharf skyline towering across the water. The Golden Hind, Southwark Cathedral, and Shakespeare's Globe theatre. Peregrine falcons nesting on the tower of the Tate Modern. Italian ice cream under Tower Bridge. A Colombian music festival side-by-side with hip-hop dancers busking on the grass by the London Eye.
London, rich and wonderful :)
