Photos from our May walk yesterday, along the River Great Ouse. A real Wind In The Willows river, especially at this time of year when everything is so lush and green :-)

Flood meadow, Huntingdon. Most winters this whole area floods to a depth of several feet.

Buttercup.

Red Clover.

The River Great Ouse.

Willow tree seeds - I've never seen this amount before (it may be due to everything coming at once after the cold winter). It was like snow in places!

Willow seedhead close up.

Cow Parsley.

The River Great Ouse, flowing wide and slow.

The kids by the river.

Waterlilies growing at the edge of the river.

Paxton Pits nature reserve - the best place in England to hear a nightingale sing.

Flood meadow at St Neots, the end of our walk.
