I've just seen the first Christmas advert on the TV. And the village supermarket is selling Christmas-themed boxes of chocolates already.
It's the 3rd of October. We still have Halloween and Guy Fawkes to go yet before we should be starting to think about Christmas.
Unbelievable.

Date: 2011-10-03 07:42 pm (UTC)The Christmas holiday begins for me when that first Kings College choirboy starts to sing Once In Royal David's City at 3pm on Christmas Eve - although I am somewhat ashamed to say that despite having lived here for twenty years now I've never actually queued up for a seat to hear it live in Kings chapel. My childrens' school always has a carol concert in St John's College chapel in December and that's lovely - beautiful music in a gorgeous old setting :)
