I've just seen the first Christmas advert on the TV. And the village supermarket is selling Christmas-themed boxes of chocolates already.

It's the 3rd of October. We still have Halloween and Guy Fawkes to go yet before we should be starting to think about Christmas.

Unbelievable.

I'm "steeling" myself for the 2 months of Xmas music prior to the actual day - it starts Nov. 1st and ends Dec. 27th

OMG!!!!!!!!!!

I refuse to have anything to do with it until DD's birthday is over, on the 17th November. Then we make the Christmas pudding and the Christmas cake, but nothing more - no Christmas carols etc or mince pies in our house until 1st December. Can't escape it in the shops etc though.

yeah well thats what I mean - I work in a mall and they are freaking relentless --- its horrific if not only for the fact that its put me right off Xmas music entirel - at least they don't play my sacred King's College Cambridge Boys Choir music - I would really tear my hair out if they did that but in Canada they seem to stick to the classics of the 40's...Dean Martin, Rosemary Clooney, Doris Day, Bing Crosby and all their ilk......ARG!!!!

I must admit that I think I'd go mad if I had to work in a mall or store and hear the same Christmas songs over and over again.

The Christmas holiday begins for me when that first Kings College choirboy starts to sing Once In Royal David's City at 3pm on Christmas Eve - although I am somewhat ashamed to say that despite having lived here for twenty years now I've never actually queued up for a seat to hear it live in Kings chapel. My childrens' school always has a carol concert in St John's College chapel in December and that's lovely - beautiful music in a gorgeous old setting :)

I saw Christmas crackers on sale about six weeks ago! More disturbingly, ASDA is selling mince pies and hot cross buns on the same display.
