Far preferable to roll into work with 10 miles on the bike under my belt and an endorphin high than grumpy as a result of sitting in traffic queues and dealing with idiot drivers :)

I'm so lucky now that they've tarmacced the cycle path all the way from my village to my work - it's a great surface to cycle on, and completely traffic-free (except for a short distance either end of my journey). The contrast with the A14, which is one of the most overcrowded and dangerous sections of dual carriageway in the country, is enormous. D is very jealous of me...

It's a beautiful day here today, cold but bright and sunny, and I'm really looking forward to getting on my bike and cycling home - it'll be sunset as I cycle through the nature reserve, so beautiful.

And of course having done a decent amount of exercise today I shall enjoy that large Friday night glass of wine with a clear conscience!

I envy you that ability - there's just no way to do that here, even if I was fit enough right now, but my commute is, literally, the single worst commute in the States. When I moved here it was only the sixth worst commute, but it apparently had ambition! ;-)
