My first fannish love in my early teens was the Sergio Leone spaghetti Westerns... so many shout outs to those in tonight's epi, plus Darktower, and that film (can't remember the name) with Yul Brunner as a gunslinging cyborg. And I loved the colouring and the soundtrack, too. And the Doctor's humour... and Amy calling him on his compassion... and so much more.As for Farscape, I actually started downloading and watching the first season only yesterday, so Ben Browder turning up in Dr Who today was quite a coincidence :)
Talk about timing! I'm a little envious that you have the whole series of Farscape ahead to enjoy for the first time. I've got the DVD series set and am thinking I may have to break it out to relive it all.
Tonight's Doctor Who was beautifully shot. I have a thing for seeing the Doctor pushed to the brink and getting pulled back, and it's rare we ever see him point a gun, let alone at a living being, so it's always fascinating. Also, "Anyone who's not American put down your gun!" cracked me up.
Amy & Rory are kinda my favorite companions so far for the revised series, Donna is a very close second. maybe i'm biased but this is much better than some cowboys with aliens. ;)
