OK, I've put my voyage journal plus some photos and stuff up here on my webpages. There may be some more photos to come when I get them from the other members of Red Watch, including (hopefully) at least one of me aloft.
The people on the voyage were a very mixed bunch. On my watch, ages ranged from 20 to 65. Some had sailed before, some never, some had been on a tall ship before, some hadn't. There was a range of backgrounds/professions, too, including a lawyer, a policeman, a truck driver, an unemployed Scouser who was on some sort of rehab thing after being arrested for nicking cars, and a guy who restored old houses and was also part of a team restoring a tall ship in Devon. We all got on really well, and everyone pulled together and looked after one another.
I would say that there was only one person I'd have had a problem with (at some point I'd have had to tell her to shut up) and luckily she was on another watch.
As I was reading I could feel my heart speeding up - all sorts of "Where do I sign up?" thoughts running madly through my head.
Gosh, it sounds wonderful. And the glorious pictures - I'm going to show my mates what a brilliant thing you've done! Jeesh, I'm writing like a 30s schoolboy: all top-hole and whizz-bang stuff!
