So there was this city, decorated with obviously fake strands of greenery. And a huge army of orcs came to destroy it. There was lots of gratuitous sweat-and bloodstained naked Achilles (very nice too), Orli has beautiful brown eyes but still hasn't proved to me that he can act, and Sean Bean as my old favourite Odysseus was awesome and totally hot, even if he did get confused and go into the old 'brother, captain, king' routine at the end. Oh, and I didn't miss the gods as much as I thought I would.

So what did I think of it? Achilles kneeling to await my pleasure will do very nicely thank you. Enjoyable hogwash. With pretty pretty men.

Funny - I like Orli but in this he was ... well .. Paris, I guess. Is that a good or a bad thing? *ponders*

Good question...

Y'know, in a couple of places I could almost see him about to give us a deeper interpretation of the guy. When he was going to go out and die for his people, for one thing. But he never quite managed it.

I was impressed with the cowardly bit he did when he grabbed onto Hector's legs.. but apart from being pretty and stealing someone else's wife, he didn't do much... and I could've kicked him for killing Achilles.

I just saw a bit of something when he offered (more than once) to die so no one else would have to. And when he went out and was going to do it. I think Orli could have made something of the conflict between his willingness to do this, but his utter inability to follow through. He never quite managed it, though.

At Escapade a couple of years back I wore a pair of black leather boots. Which immediately became the Boots of Gondor. Everything else that weekend quickly became something of Gondor too.
