Such a frustrating morning. Dropped DD off at nursery then realised I had a rapidly-flattening rear tyre. Could I get the wheel off to change it? Could I h*ll. The bolts were done up incredibly tightly - ended up having to call out the AA (the Roadside Assistance people) to change the wheel for me. I hate it when I'm forced to be a feeble female!

Hard one. Most of my decisions were the best I could do in the situation at the time, and even the disasters have gone towards making me who I am today, so I can't really regret them too much.
2. If you could have any super power, what would it be?
The ability to heal others.

Fiery; logical; independant.
4. You're being sent to a desert island forever and you're being given allowed to choose between taking a copy of LOTR with, and taking Karl Urban with. What is your choice?
LOTR. I've loved it longest and it will never age or argue.

Something bad happening to my children.

Producing my two children. Out of the mom-world, some of the cave exploration I've done - being the first person ever to visit somewhere on this Earth is a pretty awesome experience!
2. Describe your pefect meal.
A candlelight dinner for two in a remote mountain lodge somewhere. Champagne to accompany fresh asparagus to start, followed by lamb roasted with rosemary and garlic, new potatoes and fresh veggies, all accompanied by a good Rioja (love that oaky taste). Dessert would be strawberries and cream. Brandy drunk under the stars, then to bed to work off some of the calories!
3. How do you like to be kissed?
Passionately in secret.
4. Best vacation place?
Anywhere deserted with ocean and mountains (North West Scotland in good weather and without midges would be ideal).
5. Would you be able to kill someone close to you if it meant that 10 people close to you would survive some sort of catastrophe?
Tough question! I couldn't kill one of my children, but other than that I just might be logical and objective enough to do it.

Yorkshire Dales
Jul. 7th, 2003 02:07 pmWe're planning to head off to the Dales camping this weekend (the kids are getting very excited about it) - look out for the major thunderstorms that I'm sure will now be getting ready to bombard North Yorkshire on Saturday and Sunday...
It's ages since I've been up there, which considering what a major part the Dales played in my life for so long (because of caving) is not a good thing. I just love it up there - the limestone scenery is very special and beautiful to me, the flora is varied and fascinating (wild thyme in the grass, such an evocative smell), and of course there are the caves. One of my favourite things is to stand on top of Ingleborough on a fine day and look at the geology and hydrology laid out before me, and think about how I know this hill so well because I know it inside and out.
