A short rant

Since his op, DH has had a medicated plug (made of some sort of cotton wool/fabric-type stuff) in his ear, which is due to be taken out next week. Taking a look at this on Tuesday, it looked to me as though either the ear has been bleeding internally (not a nice idea) or the plug is working its way out. So yesterday DH rang the hospital where he was treated to see if he could go in and get it looked at, and was told that he had to see his GP first to get referred. So off he went to see the GP, who was very annoyed at the hospital for making DH do this, and who has now left no end of snotty messages for the consultant at the hospital about this. But DH still hasn't managed to get anyone who knows what they're looking at to look at his ear. And we're even paying for this (well, the health insurance company is), so we can't even complain about the NHS this time.

Took a quick survey this morning of what is in the pile of books lying by my bed (i.e. what I’m currently reading or have read/dipped into over the last few weeks - and yes, it’s about time I did some tidying up...).
