Mar. 15th, 2006 05:55 pmFinished the soccer scarf for DS, and just finished the beanie I made with the leftover yarn. It's come out really well (considering I've never knitted a hat before, and never knitted on circular needles or dpns, and I merged and adapted two different patterns). The boy will be home soon - hope he likes it! I may even manage a photo later.
I've also finished the scarf I couldn't resist knitting for myself - two different yarns knitted together on 10 mm needles. It's come out as the closest thing to a feather boa that isn't made of feathers that you could imagine. Very warm and very tactile - I've been wearing it around the house all day for the last 2 days :-)
I've bought sock wool and needles to have my first go at knitting socks (I'm planning to take the project sailing - the wool is suitably ocean-coloured). We'll have to see how it goes... the needles and yarn look very thin...
