Going vegetarian

I’ve been feeling recently that I’d very much like to be vegetarian again. I was veggie for about 8 years after going on a series of farm visits as part of my course at Uni, and seeing intensive animal husbandry at first hand, but I started eating meat again when I was pregnant with DS (pressure from my family...). I still don’t eat much meat (probably 2 meals in a week, if that) and try to stick to stuff that is organic and has not been intensively reared. But now I think I’d like to drop even that for a while.
But here’s my problem. At the weekend we have a family meal on Sunday night where we all sit down together at a nicely-laid table, candles, proper wine glasses (the kids have apple juice in theirs), matching cutlery, the works. And we usually have roast chicken. The children love roast chicken, so it really wouldn’t be fair to stop having it for Sunday dinner. But there is no way that I can cook roast chicken, carve it and serve it and not eat some myself. No way. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. I guess for all my principles I’m just not a natural vegetarian.
