New garden list bird!

A new bird for my garden list this morning - a female Great Spotted Woodpecker attacking the last of the peanuts in our feeder under the big tree. A shame the feeder's about to go away for the summer, or she might be back.

We've got a collared dove at the minute who's unusually tame, we've had a few coming for years but this particular one you can almost hand feed.

Cool! It must be the week for woodpeckers; I saw a pileated woodpecker on my way to work yesterday morning. Only the second time in my life I've spotted one. Nearly drove off the road gawking. *g*
