Ordering online

Because Amazon were so good when OotP came out (they had it delivered to my door at 07.30 on the day it was issued) I decided to order the TT EE from them (sometimes because of work I can't get to the shops for several days, and I wanted the EE as soon as possible). But Amazon are saying that they're dispatching it today, which means that (knowing the postal system where I live) I might even not get it until Thursday. (As it happens I could have gone and bought it - my cousin got her copy from ToysRUs just down the road on Sunday morning, dammit!)
So what do I do about PotC? Amazon reckon (if their website is to believed) that they're dispatching on the 5th with a delivery estimate of the 8th, which seems unacceptable to me given that the release date is the 1st. Do I cancel the order (waiting an extra week for it is just not on, however good deprivation might be for my soul...), and risk not being able to get to a store? Or do I leave it?
If the TT EE is there when I get home tonight then maybe I'll stick with Amazon. If not, then I'll cancel the order and drop them a line to tell them why.

Date: 2003-11-18 01:10 pm (UTC)Apparently it is TERRIBLE! They gave him a totally camp voice which turned him from the indescribably sexy, swaggering man to a camp (still quite sexy) luvvie.
I had to hold the phone to the loud speaker of my comp so that my dear friend could hear his REAL voice. That was one one-sided conversation *LOL*

Date: 2003-11-18 01:17 pm (UTC)Why do people insist on seeing Jack Sparrow as camp? I can't see him as camp at all (and I once shared a house with a Queen of Camp, so believe me I am well schooled in campness!) - I see the swagger, I see it has a certain quality that could be construed as gay (by anyone with no appreciation of the finer points of sexuality, anyway!), but not as camp, no way.
But then I'm probably just biased by the fact that I think Jack Sparrow is one of the sexiest characters I've come across in a long time...

Oh yes and he IS sex on legs. *sighs*
