Progress!

We have moved on from Max bolting out of the room as soon as he spots Milly. He's now following her closely around the house, occasionally batting her with a very tentative paw - at which point she hisses at him and he pulls the paw back double quick. I think he sort of wants to be friends, but she's not sure yet.

Anyway, definitely progress.

What helped our cats adjust to each other was petting one and then the other; it supposedly gets their scent on each other and then they don't smell so strange. It seemed to help, anyway.
