If you ring me on a bad line from an Indian call centre, tell me your name is John and that I've downloaded something on my computer that will harm it, I'm afraid I'm not going to switch said computer on and follow your instructions to 'fix the problem'. Seriously?

I got one of those, but it wasn't on a bad line.

John (or what ever his name was): You need to go to the control panel.

Me: Ok, I'm there

John: You need to go to [some window]

Me: I don't have that on my computer

John: He repeated the program than said, you should have it.

Me: No I don't

John: what version is your operating system

Me: Fedora 13

John: What?

Me: Fedora 13

John: What's that?

Me: Linux

John: You don't have Windows

Me: No.

John: This doesn't apply then.
