Running
Out for 6.5 km (4 miles) at 0600.
Gorgeous morning for a run, but I really didn't feel like it - I've been feeling a bit wheezy these last couple of days but I can't tell if its a cold or the rapeseed pollen causing it. Thought I'd give up and go home after the first km, but then I started to feel better and ended up really enjoying it - it was worth persevering :)
Cycling
Cycled to work and back, 33 km.
Almost the perfect cycle commute: bright and sunny but not too cold and with no wind on the way there, and warm and sunny but not too warm and with a following wind on the way home :)
And I saw a Barn Owl while cycling through the Nature Reserve this morning :)
Running
Out for 6 km at 0600.
Ran out along the cyclepath and back across the fields, the grass crunching with frost but the early morning sun warm on my face. No-one out there this morning except me, the birds (glorious birdsong) and a few rabbits.
Now for breakfast :)

Cycling
Cycled to work and back, 33 km (20 miles).
Beautiful day for cycling, glorious sunshine and little wind. And the birdsong was amazing - loads of summer migrants, especially in the nature reserve: Willow Warblers, Chiffchaffs, Whitethroats, Blackcaps, Reed Warblers and Sedge Warblers :)

Finally!
A day of firsts: first bumblebee of the year, first Chiffchaff singing, first Tortoiseshell butterfly. The Gardener's World guys on TV last night reckoned that we're 20 days behind where we should be with regards to Spring, and that seems about right from what I'm seeing. Fingers crossed that the hard weather is finally behind us now.

Knitting wisdom
I think I'll leave turning the heel of this sock until I'm a bit more sober...

Running
Out for our traditional 5 km run across the fields before Christmas Day breakfast - only D and I this year, for some reason our teenagers preferred to stay in bed rather than brave the wind and rain with us!

Giving thanks
It is a matter of some joy to me that the heating engineer has fixed our boiler pump, with the result that our central heating system no longer sounds like wounded dinosaur every time it turns on :)

Disreputable decrepitude
Honey, when I said that when I got too old to do anything else I was going to write porn on the Internet, I wasn't exactly joking 'kay?

So not happening, Maxwell beast!
Max, you need to understand that the concept of Hut Rules DOES NOT APPLY TO CATS. Not in this house, anyway.
Get off my chair. Now.
